Product Description

Auto Tech Rescue offers a refurbished 2005-2007 Ford super duty trailer brake control module.  This module is an OEM part that has been rebuilt and comes with a lifetime warranty.

Ford trailer brake control modules have a known problem with becoming faulty over time.  When this happens, you may experience an intermittent TBC Fault error or a Trailer Disconnect message.  Other issues that can occur over time is a lack of voltage change when increasing or decreasing the gain.  With our repair, we rebuild the circuit board within the module, test the voltage, and test the buttons for functionality prior to shipping each unit out.  If you are uncertain whether your module is causing your problems or something else, we recommend you have a professional look over your truck for any corrosion or wiring issues that could also cause similar symptoms.  Occasionally, the plug for the wiring harness behind the rear bumper cover can become corroded over time and needs to be cleaned.  If this happens, it can cause an error with the trailer brake system.  If all plugs and cleaned and clear of any corrosion and you still have an error message, then we recommend replacing or repairing the module itself.

Warranty Information

Our trailer brake module comes with a lifetime warranty.  A warranty sticker is placed on each unit before it goes out.  As long as the warranty sticker remains in place, the module will be covered against failure.  If the sticker is removed or if vehicle is involved in a flood or fire, the warranty is void.

How This Works

  • Purchase the refurbished tow module – pay for the module & core deposit
  • Install the unit
  • Place the old module in the box and place our return shipping label on it
  • Send the core unit back to ATR
  • A core refund will be issued within 5-10 business days

Core Deposit

Each of our refurbished modules requires a core deposit to be paid along with the purchase price of the unit.  This is your guarantee that you will ship us back your faulty module.  By doing this, we are able to keep used units in circulation and prevent the supply from diminishing to the point that everyone has to purchase new parts from the dealership.  Once you pay for your rebuilt Ford brake module, we will ship it out along with a prepaid shipping label for your core return.  Partial refunds are issued on cores returned with damage beyond repair.  If you do not have a core unit to return, you simply do not receive a core deposit.  It does not prevent the sale from being completed.

Damage Beyond Repair

If your core brake module has had prior repair attempts or has been involved in a flood or fire, you may be at risk of a partial core refund.  We will inspect each core after its arrival for any damage beyond repair.  If we find major damage to the unit from the above-stated reasons, we will estimate a partial refund.  This is not common, but does occur sometimes.  If this is the case, we will part out the module and use the pieces that are salvageable and give you credit for those items.  Examples of damage beyond repair from prior repair attempts includes holes drilled through the circuit boards or major components missing from the circuit board itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Will the trailer brake module have to be programmed when it is returned to me?

A:  No.  The unit can be plugged in and is ready to work without any programming required.

Q:  How quickly can I get a module?

A:  We ship within one day of orders being placed.  You may choose upgraded shipping options at the checkout.

Q:  Will the refurbished unit look nice?

A:  It is our policy to only send out items that we would want installed in our own vehicles.  Each item is cleaned and inspected prior to shipping out.

Q:  How do I return the core unit?

A:  A return shipping label will be included for your core return.  Inside the box with your refurbished trailer module, you will find a copy of your invoice and a return shipping label.  Simply place the core module in the box with the packing material and return it using the prepaid label.

Q:  How quickly will I receive my core refund?

A:  Cores are inspected and returned in batches.  It takes approximately 5-10 days after receipt to inspect and issue the core refund.
